Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that approximately 450 drones were intercepted before reaching the capital. He accused Ukraine of attempting to undermine Russia’s parliamentary elections, which were taking place in both Russia and territories in Ukraine occupied by Russia. Kyiv has denounced the legitimacy of the elections held in these occupied regions.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed a total of 1,110 Ukrainian drones were neutralized across Russia, Crimea, and the Black Sea region. The timing of the attack coincided with the closing day of the parliamentary elections, adding a layer of complexity to the already tense geopolitical situation.
