NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has proposed transforming Kazakhstan into a global center for physical artificial intelligence (AI), boosting the country’s role in AI and digital technologies. During a meeting in Astana on October 23 with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Huang emphasized Kazakhstan’s potential due to its energy resources and skilled workforce in science, mathematics, and technology.
President Tokayev underscored the significance of this partnership with NVIDIA, aligning it with Kazakhstan’s ambition to become a leading AI-driven nation. He declared that 2026 will be the Year of Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan, highlighting the country’s focus on these sectors as national priorities. Tokayev also expressed enthusiasm for NVIDIA’s collaboration with local technology company Higgsfield.
Huang praised Kazakhstan’s aspirations and suggested its development as a hub for physical AI, a field that integrates AI with tangible systems such as robotics, autonomous machinery, and industrial equipment. He expressed optimism about the ongoing cooperation with Kazakh technology businesses, describing it as the start of a long-term relationship.
In recognition of his efforts to advance AI in Kazakhstan, President Tokayev awarded Huang the Order of Dostyk, honoring his contributions to the country’s technological progress.
